Doktor.se secured $16M in a convertible loan.
Doktor.se, a Stockholm, Sweden-based e-health company that helps customers find, book and get access to healthcare services, completed a SEK 150M ($16M) bridge funding via a convertible loan.
The money will be used to fuel the company's ambitions to accelerate growth, as it aims to acquire 20 health centers in the following 18 months. The company already owns and operates through two clinics based in Vingåker and Uppsala. At the same time, Doktor.se announced that Asghar Farahani will become the company's Head of Physical Care.
Doktor.se, founded in 2016 and led by CEO Martin Lindman, offers digital health care services through video app meetings and phone calls via its platform, Doktor.se or directly at its own clinics.
The company has 280 employees based in Stockholm and Uppsala. In 2018, it registered a turnover of SEK 113M ($12M) and a loss as big as SEK 98M.
Prior to this funding round, Doktor.se raised $27M from investors including Bonnier Ventures and Oriola.
