Doktor24 in a SEK 400 million financing round backed by Stena Sessan, Ernström & Co, Patricia Industries and Apoteket AB
Doktor24, a Stockholm, Sweden-based health company, announced a financing round totalling SEK 400M ($47.9M).
The money was raised from new and existing investors, including Stena Sessan, Ernström & Co, Patricia Industries and Apoteket AB.
Proceeds will be used for expansion in several markets, as well as for improving the digital platform for an integrated care chain throughout healthcare.
Doktor24, founded in 2016 and led by CEO Daniel Lillienau, developed a health network system by integrating digital and physical care service providing.
The company says it is the largest in the Nordic region in automatic triage to the right level of care, in complex flows and along the entire care chain. As a digital physical care provider, the company offers care through chat and video and physically in 70 health rooms and receptions at pharmacies around the country.
Doktor24 also operates through a subsidiary, Platform24, which is a developer of technical solutions for digitally integrated care for both private and public healthcare providers.
Prior to this capital raise, Doktor24 sold a 20% stake in the company for $6.3 million to the local pharmacy chain Apoteket AB. In 2019, the company had sales of SEK 66.7 million ($8M) and made a loss of 59.4 million.
