Earin, the Swedish Bluetooth headphone maker, gets bought by American artist Will.i.am.

Earin, a Malmö, Sweden-based company manufacturing wireless, bluetooth-based headphones, was reportedly purchased by the American artist turned-investor Will.i.am - William James Adams.

The financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed. The company will be part of William's other investments, namely Omega, which is a voice assistant for customer service, a sort homegrown alternative to Alexa or Siri, targeted at enterprise users. Omega is very well funded, having announced a $117 million in venture investment from backers including Salesforce Ventures.

Earin, founded in 2014 by former Nokia employee Kiril Trajkovski, Olle Lindén and Per Sennström, was made with the aim to manufacture the smallest, wireless earbuds available on the market. The company Kickstarted its first product and in 2015 launched at a retail price of 199 EUR ($213).

In 2016, Earin recorded SEK 5M in losses, at a turnover of SEK 67M ($8.2M).

At the beginning of 2017, the company has raised SEK 30M ($3.4M), from investors including LMK, Midroc Invest and Granitor Invest. Prior to that, Earing received SEK 25M ($3M) in a convertible loan from Bluewise Fund AB.

It should be noted that Will.i.am also invested in the Swedish-based music startup Amuse in 2017. Amuse wants to become world's first mobile record company, by providing an app that acts as a free music distributor of independent artists around the world.
