Einride raised SEK 6M in funding, prepares to launch a self-driving electric propulsion vehicle in 2018.

Einride, a Stockholm, Sweden-based startup working on manufacturing a vehicle designed and developed for self-driving electric propulsion, closed a SEK 6M ($700k) investment round.

The money comes from employees and friends, including Carl-Henric Nilsson, who became the chairman of the board of directors.

Einride, founded in 2016 by CEO Robert Falck and Filip Lilja, aims to develop a next generation’s disruptive road transport solution. Its first product, the T-pod, is a transport vehicle designed and developed for self-driving electric propulsion. The company is working with Lidl for testing its products, and estimates it will go to market in 2018, as it also still working out the legal details.
