Emteria raised €1.3 million in seed funding from High-Tech Gründerfonds and Runa Capital.
Emteria, an Aachen, Germany-based software developer of extendable and customizable Android platforms for industrial applications, announced raising €1.3 million ($1.4M) in seed funding.
The money was raised from the German investor High-Tech Gründerfonds and from the Russian-founded Runa Capital. Proceeds will be used to expand its business capabilities and attract more industrial customers.
Emteria, founded in 2017 by CEO Igor Kalkov, developed an adapted Android platform for customer-specific products and off-the-shelf hardware. The software solution, including the entire ecosystem for device management and secure updates, is an in-house development, and supports Raspberry Pi 3B/B+ and Raspberry Pi CM3.
Emteria has over 70,000 users worldwide and is currently working on support for Raspberry Pi 4, as well as for industrial hardware platforms from NXP, Qualcomm and Rockchip.
