Esportal acquires Inferno Online, wants to expand in other geographies.

Esportal, a Stockholm, Sweden-based company managing a gaming platform, announced the purchasing of Inferno Online.

Inferno Online is the world's largest physical gaming center and is the birthplace of several of the world's best teams and players.

The acquisition, which has undisclosed financial details, creates synergies for both companies and gives Esportal the opportunity to develop a stronger position in the e-sports market. Operations Manager for Inferno Online, Anton Budak, continues in his role as a committed CEO of the company.

In 2016, Inferno Online had SEK 30M ($3.6M) in revenues and an operating profit of SEK 2M.

Esportal was founded in 2014, by Peter Liljestrand, Daniel Aicardi, Rickard Wilton, Erik Lindblom and Taina Malén. Its platform has 50,000 registered players, and over 120,000 matches have been hosted on their servers since its start.

The company announced raising SEK 15M ($1.7M) from about 35 investors at the beginning of 2017.
