Eventyr merges operations with Tapaus, forms the largest event agency in the Nordic region

Tapaus, a Helsinki, Finland-based event marketing agency, announced getting into an agreement for acquiring the Eventyr, an event marketing agency based in Stockholm, Sweden.

Financial details of the transaction remained undisclosed. Following the acquisition, Tapaus Group’s estimated turnover will reach around 50 million euros ($56M) in 2020.

Sofi Franzén will remain as CEO of Eventyr and will also join as a partner in the Tapaus Group. After the merger, both companies will continue to work independently.

Eventyr, founded in 1995 by Kristoffer Schjött-Quist and Sofi Franzén, has 32 employees and is the second largest event company in Sweden, after Hansen, from a sales perspective. In the last fiscal year (2018), the company had sales of about SEK 150 million ($14M).

Tapaus, led by CEO Timo Aalto, is one of the largest event planning and production firm especially in corporate events in Finland. The company has made 23 million euros in 2018 out of which about 15% was generated through B2C events.

In 2019, Tapaus was acquired by the Finnish private equity firm MB Rahastot.
