Falcon.io was acquired by Cision.

Falcon Io, a Copenhagen, Denmark-based company providing a SAAS social media management platform, announced that it was acquired by the American company Cision.

Cision Ltd. is a public-listed company provider of earned media software and services to public relations and marketing communications professionals, including press release distribution, media monitoring and other PR services.

Following the transaction, Falcon will continue to be offered as a stand-alone social media platform for marketers, advertisers, and customer experience professionals, and it will also be integrated with the Cision Communications Cloud to expand social media capabilities to earned media and communications professionals.

Falcon, founded in 2010 and led by CEO Ulrik Bo Larsen, developed an unified SaaS platform for social media listening, engaging, publishing, measuring and management. The company works with a global client portfolio includes Carlsberg, Toyota, William Grant & Sons, Momondo, Panasonic, Coca-Cola supported by about 250 employees located in New York, Copenhagen, Sofia, Berlin, Melbourne and Budapest.

The financial details of the deal remained officially undisclosed and, according to the Danish media estimates, the price put a company valuation at around DKK 800M ($122M). At the beginning of 2017, when it raised $7M, Falcon was valued at $52M.

Prior to being acquired, Falcon raised more than $30M in venture money from investors including Cipio Partners, Northcap, Prime Ventures and Target Partners.
