Fazer Group, a Vantaa, Finland-headquartered food company, announced that it acquired Kaslink, a Finnish dairy company, expert in oat products.

The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Kaslink, founded in 2001 by three brothers including Raino Kukkonen and Juha-Petteri Kukkonen, is a family-owned company specialised in developing and manufacturing premium Scandinavian food products, including cooking products, drinks and snacks. The company, which has 170 employees, is located in Koria, southeast Finland, had sales of €65M in 2018 and is supported by brands including Kaslink Aito, Maire, Koria, The Vesi and Nordic Cuisine.

The Kaslink Aito product family is made from Nordic oats and consists of non-dairy drinks, cooking products and snacks. Kaslink has developed well in the Finnish market and its entry into the highly competitive Swedish market has also been successful, creating a platform for future growth in this market.

Fazer Group, led by CEO Christoph Vitzthum, is one of the largest corporations in the Finnish food industry. The company was founded by Karl Fazer in 1891, as a "French-Russian confectionary" in central Helsinki.
