FirstVet gets funding for launching an online video medical service for pets.
FirstVet, a Stockholm, Sweden-based startup working on an online paltform for video medical consulations for pets, announced laucnhing its platform. The company is a spinoff from Vetzoo, an ecommerce platform based in Stockholm and selling pet food.
FirstVet, led by CEO David Prien, is backed by seed money investment coming from Victor & Victor and from the state innovation authority Vinnova.
FirstVet has recruited a number of experienced veterinarians, including Marianne Tornvall, who became the veterinarian of 2014. FirstVet now creates a pool of veterinarians who are affiliated with the service, partly by internally recruiting and partly by building a consultant network covering the entire market. In addition, FirstVet has previously owned several of Sweden's largest animal related sites, including Veterinären.nu.
