Food For Progress was acquired by Livekindly
Food For Progress, a Stockholm, Sweden-based plant-based meat company, announced that it was acquired by the US company Livekindly.
Financial details remained undisclosed.
Food for Progress, founded in 2015 by Anna-Kajsa Lidell and CEO Anders Wallerman, is a food producer, with brands including Oumph! (made from soya beans) and Beat (from organic Swedish fava and kidney beans).
Oumph! is a brand which produces a wide range of products, including soy-based burgers, strips, fillets, and pulled meat, available in supermarkets across Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, Denmark, Finland, and in the U.K., where it saw a 400 percent sales increase last year. Additionally, Oumph! saw a 40 percent increase in sales across all markets in the first quarter 2020. The company plans to launch in Germany later this year.
Livekindly, led by Kees Kruythoff, CEO, is a collective of plant-based heritage and start-up brands including The Fry Family Food Co., LikeMeat, and LIVEKINDLY.
