fruitcore robotics raised €17M in Series A funding in a round led by UVC Partners, btov Partners and CNB Capital.
Fruitcore Robotics, a Konstanz, Germany-based robotics company, announced that it raised €17M ($20M) in Series A funding.
The money was raised from investors led by UVC Partners, btov Partners and CNB Capital.
Proceeds will be used to expand its European presence and extend its digital services.
Fruitcore Robotics, founded in 2017 as a spin-off of the HTWG Konstanz (Hochschule Konstanz Technik Wirtschaft und Gestaltung) by Jens Riegger, Patrick Heimburger, Tim Schmiedl, Manuel Frey and Tobias Kuentzle, has a focus on the development, production and marketing of technically outstanding and easy-to-operate industrial robots. The company built an industrial robot called HORST (Highly Optimized Robotic Systems Technology), a system that uses intelligent software and innovative mechatronics to provide robots which are already automating several hundred different applications in ten industries.HORST has different load capacities and ranges, an intuitive software horstFX, as well as intelligent features for camera recognition and plug and play solutions including grippers. The portfolio includes three robot models with reaches of 600, 900 and 1400 millimeters and payloads between 3 and 12 kilograms.
Fruitcore Robotics is backed by 80 employees based in two locations. In addition to the headquarters in Constance, a production site in Villingen-Schwenningen was opened in May 2020. fruitcore robotics develops and produces the HORST robot systems in Germany.
