Gimi secures SEK 29M from Collector, wants to expand in Europe its free mobile payment service for kids.

Gimi (Veckopengen), a Stockholm, Sweden-based startup managing a free mobile application for kids, announced closing an SEK 29M ($3.6M) investment round.

The money comes from existing investors and new ones, including Collector Bank through NFT Ventures, and angel investor Patrick Söderlund.

Gimi AB, founded in 2014 under the name Veckopengen by former football player Philip Haglund, also CEO, developed a mobile application that aims to help children handle money in a healthy and responsible way. The app has over 400,000 users and is currently established throughout the Nordic region.

Prior to this investment, Gimi raised about $800k from a range of local angel investors, including Michael Rosencrantz, Oscar Salén, Staffan Persson, Stefan Arenbalk, Eva Cederbalk or Johan Qviberg.
