Gutsy Animations announced raising money from Moomin Characters and Bulls Holding AB.

Gutsy Animations, a Helsinki, Finland-based animation studio, announced raising a capital investment round.

The money was provided by a range of Nordic private investors, including the Jansson family-run firm Moomin Characters Ltd Oy, and Bulls Holding AB, parent company of Bulls Press and Rights and Brands.

The money will be used for helping the growth for the company as it broadens its slate into non-kids scripted live action and brand new 2D animated kids’ series – both with a strong emphasis on nature and bold female characters.

Gutsy Animations, founded in 2016 and led by CEO Marika Makaroff, is making a TV series "MOOMINVALLEY"​ which is a brand new adaptation of the writer and illustrator Tove Jansson’s classic and much beloved body of work. It is an animated TV - series for lifelong Moomin fans and complete newcomers alike.
