Helsing to raise €102.5 million in a round backed by Prima Materia

Helsing, a Berlin, Germany-based startup develping a new gen of macro defence and intelligence solution, announced that it completed a funding round of €102.5 million ($118.9M).

The money was mainly raised from Daniel Ek's investment vehicle, Prima Materia, which contributed with 100 million. Daniel Ek will join the company’s board, alongside Helsing’s co-founders. The deal is dubbed as series A and values the company at €400 million ($464M).

Helsing, founded in 2020 by CEO Torsten Reil, Gundbert Scherf and Niklas Köhler, is still in stealth, claiming to work on the development of a new type of defence and intelligence technology. The solution is a real-time software platform that processes data from multiple sensors directly on vehicles and systems in roder to provide an integrated view of the operational environment with the aim of faster and more accurate decision-making in the case of a cybersecurity attack.
