Herkules announces the acquisition of share majority in Didriksons.
Herkules Capital, an Oslo, Norway-based private equity company, announced it has signed an agreement to acquire a majority of Didriksons, Sweden's market leader in functional clothing.
The deal has the financial details undisclosed, and was made through Herkules IV, which becomes the majority owner of the shares in Didriksons. CEO Sören Andreasson and other key employees will hold a significant minority interest and are thus demonstrating a strong belief and commitment to the future development of the company.
Didriksons, founded in 1913 by Julius and Hanna Didrikson, is market leading in Scandinavia within functional and waterproof sportswear. The company's brand is Didriksons 1913 , based on its 100 year history and roots in Grundsund, Sweden.
Didriksons is represented in 19 countries and with own distribution in Sweden, Norway and UK. The company has 45 employees and European brand sales of about SEK 450 million with solid international growth momentum.
Net sales in 2012 were SEK 284 million with an EBITDA of SEK 54 million.
