HolaLuz announced a $50 million investment round from Spanish investors.

HolaLuz, a Barcelona, Spain-based online energy company, announced the completion of a $55.4 million capital investment.

The announcement comes as the company intends to list publicly its shares by the end of 2019.

HolaLuz was founded in 2011, is led by Carlota Pi and was built under the promise of being an electricity trader with the intention of changing the industry. The company started as a developer of a cloud-based energy analytics platform designed to monitor and optimize energy usage. The company's platform integrates sensors and analytics software that track individual energy consumption, recommends profitable rates and suggests ways on how to reduce energy usage through green energy meters, enabling clients to save energy cost and reduce pollution.
