ienai SPACE in a €1 million round backed by Inveready.

ienai SPACE, a Madrid, Spain-based startup building propulsion systems and mission analysis for nano-satellites, announced the completion of a €1 million ($1.2M) capital round.

The money was raised from investors from Spain led by Inveready.

ienai SPACE, incubated in 2019 at ESA BIC Madrid Region by CEO Daniel Pérez Grande, developed a system called ATHENA ('Adaptable THruster based on Electrospray for NAnosatellites'), an electric propulsion system that is light and efficient enough to be integrated into this type of satellites.

With propulsion on board, ienai SPACE will double the life of satellites in very low orbit, thus reducing mission costs. In addition, it will allow orbital maneuvers to improve their functionality in space, as well as their final de-orbit, thus mitigating the problem of space debris.
