Infinited Fiber Company announced adding Zalando as investors in the company.
Infinited Fiber, an Espoo, Finland-based manufacturer of textile by using a technonology that turns textile waste and other pulp-based materials into new textile fibres, announced that it entered into an investment agreement for adding Zalando as investors in the company.
Financial details were not disclosed. The deal complements the €30 million investment round closed in June 2021, led by H&M Group via Colab, together with Adidas and Bestseller’s investment arm Invest FWD A/S.
In addition to the funding, the two companies are also signing a letter of intent that includes Zalando providing raw materials to Infinited and Zalando using the regenerated Infinna fiber for its private label production.
Infinited Fiber Company Ltd. (IFC), founded in 2018 as a spinoff from VTT and led by CEO Petri Alava, developed a technology that can turn textile, cardboard and agricultural waste to new and better cotton. The final output, Infinna, is an unique, premium-quality regenerated textile fiber with the natural, soft look and feel of cotton. Infinna is biodegradable and contains no microplastics, and at the end of their life, garments made with it can be recycled in the same process together with other textile waste.
