KiteX, a Copenhagen, Denmark-based startup working on a drone-based, cheaper energy solution, closed an undisclosed pre-seed investment.

The backers include local angel investors Cong Wang and The Nordic Web Ventures, and the money will be used to further develop the company's product.

KiteX, founded in 2016 by Andreas Bruun Okholm and Gustaf Kugelberg, is currently working on a prototype which is a new type of flying wind turbine that can make wind power accessible for many locations in a cheaper manner. One of the founders, Andreas Bruun Okholm, is also involved with Vaavud, a Copenhagen, Denmark-based startup managing a crowdsourced weatherservice.
