Knoma announced securing funds of £21 million in debt and equity funding from Global Founders Capital, Rocket Internet, Fasanara Capital and Seedrs
Knoma, a London, UK-based operator of a combination of a payment solution and marketplace for educational services, announced securing capital funds in excess of £21 million ($27.2M).
The money is a combination of debt and equity, raised from a range of UK and international VCs including Global Founders Capital, Rocket Internet, Fasanara Capital, Seedrs, and angel investors Christian Faes.
Knoma, incorporated in 2018 as Higgler Europe by CEO Brett Shanley, developed a digital educational platform that offers users access to up to £10,000 (at zero fees, and zero interest) paid directly to the schools offering the courses. The loans can then be repaid by the student over 12 months.
The education providers can recruit and on-board new students by placing a ‘Pay with Knoma’ button on their check-out - the company is working with a number of tech and coding schools, including Code Institute, Wild Code School, CodeClan, NorthCoders, Learning People.
