Kobaj, a Copenhagen, Denmark-based startup building an online marketplace for wine, announced that it raised a DKK 20.6M ($3.3M) capital funding round.

The money was raised from investors from Denmark led by Heartcore Capital and joined by angels Morten Strunge and Preben Damgaard.

Proceeds will be used as the company has ambitions outside the home country.

Kobaj, founded in 2018 by CEO Alexander Kidd, developed a digital platform that facilitates the wine selling process by connecting customers directly with the winemakers. The company works with producers as it lists and sells their products directly to consumers, handling all the practicalities of payment, fees, insurance and transport of the goods from the producer to the customer. It is active in Demark and Germany.

Total investments received (USD): 5.11M
