Kontist announced a €25 million Series B funding round led by Founders.

Kontist, a Berlin, Germany-based financial services provider for freelancers, announced the completion of a €25 million ($29.6M) Series B funding round.

The money was raised from investors led by Founders, which contributed with 16 million, and included contributions from Haufe Group.

Kontist, founded in 2015 by Alexander Baatz, Catharina Bruns, Christopher Plantener, Madison Bell, Sebastian Galonska and Sophie Pester and co-CEO-ed by Christopher Plantener and Benjamin Esser, partnered with solarisBank in order to offer a cost-free business account including automatically generated reserves for VAT and tax, easy sign-up and paperless account processing.

The service costs between 99 and 149 per month, and Kontist thusly became a neo-bank serving the self-employed people.
