Kry, a Stockholm, Sweden-based digital healthcare company, announced getting into a business agreement for acquiring Helsa, one of Sweden's largest healthcare companies.

Financial details were not disclosed. Kry's deal rationale is to become a leader in integrating traditional and digital primary care.

Kry, founded in 2014 by Joachim Hedenius, Josefin Landgård, Fredrik Jung Abbou and CEO Johannes Schildt (CEO), started as a provider of tele-medicine services via a video application through which customers can schedule and meet with a doctor or therapist. The company is currently active in Sweden and also operates under the name Livi in England, Norway, France and Germany.

Kry is heavily backed by private investors, with a recent $155 million capital infusion made in early 2020.

Helsa, led by CEO Conny Mathiesen, is one of Sweden's largest health care companies and has 14 health centers throughout Sweden across Halland, Kronoberg, Skåne, Stockholm and Östergötland. The company has about 500 employees, had sales of roughly SEK 450 million ($48M) in 2019 and is owned by Isac Brandberg AB, controlled by the Swedish Brandberg family (Gullspång Invest).
