Lava Cheese completed a €700k investment round via Funderbeam.

Lava Cheese, a Reykjavík, Iceland-based food producer, announced that it completed a €700k ($800k) investment round.

The funding was secured via an equity crowdfunding campaign ran through Funderbeam.

Lava Cheese, founded in 2016 by Guðmundur Páll Líndal and Jósep Birgir Þórhallsso, is a food company producing a new type of snack that utilises only cheese and contains no carbohydrates. Currently, Lava Cheese is available in 3 flavours - Chili, Smoked and Plain cheddar, is manufactured in Sweden and is sold in retail stores such as ICA, COOP and Hemköp.
