LignoPure to raise €2.2 million seed round from High-Tech Gründerfonds, Innovationsstarter Fonds Hamburg GmbH (IFH) and Swiss Holding Tanovis AG.

LignoPure, a Hamburg, Germany-based alternative producer of performance bioingredients for cosmetics, food & pharma, announced that it secured €2.2 million ($2.7M) in capital funding.

The money was raised from German and Swiss investors including by High-Tech Gründerfonds, Innovationsstarter Fonds Hamburg (IFH) and Swiss Holding Tanovis AG.

LignoPure, founded in 2019 by Joana Gil (CEO), Wienke Reynolds and Stefan Boersting as a spinoff of the Institute of Thermal Separation Processes lead by Professor Irina Smirnova at TUHH. The company produces natural degradable biopolymers from non-food sources. Our Lignopure product is the best-of-its-kind lignin, with proven non cytotoxicity and added functionality.
