Lingokids announced raising $10 million from strategic investor puzzle and game producer, Ravensburger.

Lingokids, a Madrid, Spain-based company providing learning services for preschool and elementary school children, announced completing $10 million in Series B funding.

The money was raised from from the German puzzle and game producer, Ravensburger. Existing investors HV Holtzbrinck Ventures​, JME Ventures, All Iron Ventures, 500 Startups, Athos Capital and Sharpetown also contributed to the round.

Proceeds will be used for the development of more innovative content and a more comprehensive curriculum, including 21st-century skills. The new multidisciplinary activities will address STEM skills from creativity, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, literacy, and life skills (such as global awareness and responsibility).

Lingokids, founded in 2016 as Monkimun by CEO Cristobal Viedma, built a learning platform available via a mobile app providing English language learning for children in the preschool and elementary school age. The platform is available via a subscription-based language learning app, aimed at engaging children through various activities, games and songs.

The company has 20 million active users across 190 countries, with a 50% increase in engagement rates from users during 2020.

Prior to this round, Lingokids raised $8.6 million in 2018.
