Infomedia purchases Opoint Technology from Finnish M-Brain, adds web-crawling technology for its digital products.

Infomedia A/S, a Copenhagen, Denmark-based company providing media monitoring and intelligence services, announced the acquisition of Oslo, Norway-based Opoint Technology from M-Brain, a Finnish information services, technology and advisory company.

The transaction has the financial details undisclosed.

Opoint Technology, led by Jon Anders Tangnes and Rune Kleveland, provides web monitoring & technology solutions to media monitoring companies, social media providers and other business intelligence companies. The company makes its web-crawler platform for global online media monitoring available to +70 media monitors.

Opoint is a 25 people-business unit within M-Brain, which had purchased it in 2016. Prior to that, it had a turnover of approximately EUR 11M (as of 2015).

Infomedia, established in 2003 and and led by CEO Thomas Vejlemand, provides media intelligence and monitoring across print, web, broadcast and social in Denmark and the Nordics. The company has around EUR 20M ($24.8M) in revenues and is owned 50/50 by two Danish media companies JP/Politiken and Berlingske Media.
