Maas Global acquired the Spanish mobility startup Wondo, adds Ferrovial as shareholders in the company.

MaaS Global (Whim App), a Helsinki, Finland-based mobility-as-a-service (MaaS) provider, announced that it acquired Spanish mobility startup Wondo.

Financial details of the deal were not made public.

As part of the transaction, Ferrovial will become one of the shareholders of reference of the company. Ferrovial is one of Spain-based multinational company focused on the transport infrastructure and urban services.

Whim provides users all transport services in one app. It allows users to book and pay for all their trips one trip at a time or with a convenient monthly subscription. With over 16 million trips made since its launch in November 2017, Whim is the first all-inclusive MaaS solution commercially available on the market. Whim is currently live in several European and Asian markets and preparing for new launches.

Wondo, founded in 2018 and led by CEO Ion Cuervas-Mons, is an urban mobility marketplace, which provides integrated access to multiple modes of transportation.

MaaS Global, founded in 2015 and led by CEO Sampo Hietanen, developed Whim mobile application, which seeks to offer a viable alternative to car ownership.
