Medlumics raised €14M Series E round led by Asabys Partners

Medlumics, a Madrid, Spain-based medical deveice manufacturer, announced that it raised a €14M Series E capital round.

he money was raised from investors led by Asabys Partners via its vehicle Sabadell Asabys Health Innovation Investments, VI Partners and CDTI Innvierte, with the participation of existing investors of the company such as Andera Partners, Caixa Capital Risc and Innogest Capital.

The funding will allow Medlumics to complete the preclinical development of its technology and obtain the first data in humans.

Medlumics, founded in Madrid in 2009 and led by James Greene (CEO), developed a device called Ablaview, an irrigated radiofrequency cardiac ablation system that combines photonics and minimally invasive optical instruments to guide catheter positioning and determine injury in real time. AblaView is the first imaging system to assess the treatment of atrial fibrillation by ablation, allowing clinicians to determine catheter positioning, contact stability, and transmurality of the lesion during tissue ablation.
