Mellby Gård acquires Kappahl, delists it from the stock exchange
Kappahl, a Gothenburg, Sweden-based retail clothing chain, was acquired by the Swedish investor Mellby Gård, a family-owned, long-term investor based in Stockholm, Sweden and managed by Johan Andersson.
The investor, which already has had an equity position in the company for eight years, also delists Kappahl from Nasdaq Stockholm Exchange - following the deal, Mellby Gård holds 91.5 of the controlling shares.
KappAhl, chaired by Anders Bülow, is one of the Nordic region’s leading clothing chains with a total of 369 shops. KappAhl dates back to the 1950s and is one of Sweden’s most well-known retail chains. With some variation over the years, the focus has been on clothes for the whole family, both adults and children.
