Mindstone, a London, UK-based software startup building a learning platform, announced that it raised a $2.2 million capital funding round.

The money was raised from investors led by Moonfire Ventures and included contributions from The Fund, Zanichelli Venture & Nex.D.

Mindstone, founded in 2020 by CEO Joshua Wöhle, Patrick Cootes, Florian Zysset, Dr. Melody Lang and Stefan Keranov, is building what they call a platform for compound learning, namely a digital annotation tool that lets you organise, share and take notes on web pages, PDFs and academic papers easily.

The solution is provided for free and draws together the highlights and automatically generated flashcards, accelerating the learning process, making use of spaced repetition, fast feedback loops and more.

Mindstone says that it is currently being used by students and professionals wanting to accelerate their own learning, as well as institutions as diverse as Techstars to build courses on scaling early stage companies and Queen’s College London to facilitate group work during distance learning.

Total investments received (USD): 4.15M
