Monocl was acquired by Definitive Healthcare from the US.

Monocl, a Gothenburg, Sweden-based SAAS developer of analytics for the healthcare industry, announced that it was acquired by the American analytics healthcare provider Definitive Healthcare.

Financial details were not disclosed.

Monocl, founded in 2011 and led by CEO Björn Carlsson, is a stakeholder mapping and management provider to the life science industry. The company's platform delivers professional profiles on millions of medical and scientific experts worldwide. Leveraging these profiles through targeted searching and powerful filtering, the platform utilizes Machine Learning to deliver algorithmically relevant experts with the highest impact to the user.  

Monocl is not profitable, at a 2019 turnover of SEK 38 million ($4.3M) and expected to be twice as much in 2020.

Monocl was backed by investors including GP Bullhound, Almi and angel investor Gerhard Dal, having raised almost $6M.
