Monta raised €15 million in a Series A funding round led by Creandum with Headline.

Monta a Copenhagen, Denmark-based startup building a charging points marketplace for EV owners, announced the completion of series A funding round closed at €15 million ($17.1M).

The money was raised from investors led by Creandum from Sweden and joined by Headline. Proceeds will be used to help the company expand into two new European markets.

Monta, founded in 2020 by CEO Casper Rasmussen and Anders Pedersen, developed a mobile app that connects the owners of electric vehicles charging points and opens them up in a marketplace for a peer to peer conection with drivers looking to charge their cars. Once a charging point owner is hooked into Monta's network, they can decide their pricing levels. The company says it handles 4,000 charging stations that pay for the solution and 18,000 electric car owners who use it.

Monta previously raised more than $10 million from multiple angel investors from Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Norway of the UK as well as from early stage investment companies from Denmark - byFounders and Sweden - Pale Blue Dot. It was seeded at the end of 2020 by &grow Ventures ApS, an investment vehicle owned by Jeppe Rindom (co founder and CEO at Pleo), and raised a proper round in 2021, extended a few months afterwards.
