Nordisk Film acquires more shares, increases ownership in Star Stable to 40%.
Star Stable Entertainment, a Stockholm, Sweden-based gaming company announced that its owner, Nordisk Film, has increased its ownership share with 15 per cent.
Nordisk Film, based in Copenhagen, Denmark, is part of the publishing group Egmont, and one of the active investors in the gaming industry in Scandinavia.
Following a SEK 100M ($11M) acquisition of existing shares, Nordisk Film will own 40% of the company behind Star Stable Online, an online horse adventure game. to acquire additional shares from all the company’s other shareholders.
Nordisk Film had invested $18M in Star Stable Entertainment AB in May 2018 also by acquiring equity parts from the other shareholders.
Star Stable Entertainment AB, founded in 2011 and led by CEO Johan Sjöberg, developed Star Stable Online, an online MMORPG adventure horse game for girls. The title is one of the most popular online horse game in the world, as it has more than 14 million registered users in 182 countries.
