Norvestor acquires Sperre Compressors

Norvestor Equity, the Norwegian private equity company focusing on lower mid-market buyouts in the Nordic region, announced getting into an agreement to acquire Sperre Compressors from family owned Sperre Mek. Verksted AS.

The financial details of the deal remain undisclosed, while Norvestor will own 94% of the shares in the company through its funds, Norvestor VII L.P. and Norvestor VII OS L.P.

Sperre, based in Ellingsøy outside Ålesund, in the midst of the maritime- and offshore hub in Norway, is a world leading supplier of starting-air compressor systems for the offshore- and commercial marine markets. The company, which employs 113 people led by CEO Ole Nustad, is owned by third generation Sperre family and has a long-standing history in the global maritime industry with roots back to 1938.

Sperre had consolidated revenues of NOK 352M ($45M) in 2017.
