Norwegian Block Exchange (NBX) secures funding of NOK 60 million
Norwegian Block Exchange, an Oslo, Norway-based operator of a cryptocurrency exchange platform, announced the completon of a capital funding round of NOK 60M ($6.9M).
The money was raised with Pareto Securities acting as sole lead manager and guarantor of the deal. Investors include Sparebanken Øst, Observatoriet Invest, Dasha Group, Nye KM Aviatrix Invest, Nye GKB Invest, Kei Invest, Snefred Invest, Tom Oil, and Sam Eiendomspartner.
Norwegian Block Exchange was founded in 2020 by Bjørn Kjos (founder at the airline Norwegian Air and Bank Norwegian) together with son-in-law Stig Aleksander Kjos-Mathisen, who is the CEO. The company developed a crypto exchange platform that aims to become the preferred provider of digital asset services in the Nordic region.
The platform has roughly 7,000 customers, including large institutional investors and, besides being a cryptocurrency exchange, custodian and payment systems, aims to become a digital asset bank. NBX is regulated by the Financial Supervisory Authority of Norway (Finanstilsynet).
