Ocus, a Paris, France-based marketplace operator for photo creators, announced the completion of a €20M ($24.2M) capital investment round.

The money was raised from investors led by Ring Capital and joined by A/O PropTech and Expon Capital.

Proceeds will be used for product development and engineering while expanding its market presence worldwide.

Ocus, founded as Ouiflash in 2016 by Thibaud Lemonnier, Matthieu Stefani and Julien Jacob, developed a marketplace connecting photographers, videographers and drone pilots with large companies looking for visuals for their websites or social networks. The company works with brands and eCommerce providers, helping them produce images at scale that are customized, of high quality and optimized for performance.

The company also developed a robust API-first platform augmented with machine learning and image recognition to deliver optimized images which automate and streamline operations for their clients. Its platform has 30,000 global Image Creators in photography, videography, and drone, and customers include Google, Radisson, Grubhub, Yemeksepeti and Foodpanda.
