OptiGOT, a Gothenburg, Sweden-based developer of advanced VCSEL technologies, announced that it was acquired by the American company Nvidia.

Financial details were not disclosed.

OptiGOT was founded in the 2016 based on VCSEL research at Chalmers University of Technology by Anders Larsson and Johan Gustavsson.

Both founders of OptiGOT together with the then doctoral student Erik Haglund lauunched a commercial enterprise that develops surface-emitting diode lasers (VCSELs) for present and future applications in optical communications, sensing and high power. The company offers integrated design, prototyping and testing services, or parts thereof, tailored to their customers’ needs.
