Paua, a Clacton On Sea (Essex), UK-based startup building a a roaming network for electric vehicle (EV) charging, announced completing a pre-seed funding round.
Financial details remained undisclosed. The money was raised from investors led by Seedcamp and joined by Speedinvest and Octopus Ventures.
Paua, founded in 2020 by Amelia Riddell, André Pinho and CEO Niall Riddell, developed card/mobile app that can be used on a EV charging stations network, as it provides a single interface for organisations and fleets to pay for EV charging, obtain receipts, and claim VAT refunds. The company acts as a marketplace across the UK, with partners including Osprey, Fastned, Ionity, Connected Kerb, Char.gy, and Mer, said to be providing access to 10,000 chargepoint connectors across the UK.
