Payaut announced raising a $3 million round.
Payaut, an Amsterdam, Netherlands-based developer of a payment service for online marketplaces, announced that it raised more than $3 million in a new funding round.
The money was raised from investors led by Local Globe and included contributions from existing shareholder Finch Capital and from Entree Capital. The round was also backed with contributions from angel investors Robert Kraal, Jan-Joost Rueb, Onno Bakker, and Gaston Aussems.
Payaut, founded in 2019 by Ernst van Niekerk and Gillis Haasnoot, built a PSD2-compliant, all-in-one payment solution for online marketplaces taking care of everything regarding payments towards the platform and the vendors it hosts. The service functions as an intermediary between sellers and the different Payment Service Providers (PSPs). As a result, marketplaces are no longer dependent on one single PSP but instead can use multiple providers such as Mollie, Adyen or Stripe at the same time.
Payaut previously raised €1M in the summer of 2020.
