Penta announced extra funding of €7.5 million backed by existing investors led by ABN AMRO Ventures.

Penta, a Berlin, Germany-based developer of a corporate banking platform, announced an extension of its series B round of €7.5 million ($9.1M).

This is the second extension in 12 months, after an initial round of €18.5 million secured in March 2020 and a followup announced in July 2020.

The total investment now amounts to €30 million. This new financing round is backed by existing investors and underlines the strong confidence in the positive business development of the Penta business banking platform. Among existing investors finleap, HV Capital, RTP Global, Presight Capital, S7V and VR Ventures, ABN AMRO Ventures is taking the Series B+ lead.

Penta, founded in 2017 by CEO Marko Wenthin, operates a digital platform for business banking for small and medium-sized companies, as well as sole proprietors and freelancers. Within minutes, companies can digitally apply for a business account and receive a German IBAN, debit cards, digital expense management and many other financial solutions.
