PodMe adds strategic investment from Schibsted.

PodMe, a Stockholm, Sweden-based startup operating a platform for podcasts, completed a capital funding of SEK 13M ($1.3M) added to the books of the company.

The money consists of fresh capital equity of SEK 8.2M contributed to by investors including Schibsted as well as debt to shares conversion of SEK 4.5M, offset against previous liabilities.

PodMe, founded in 2017 by Johan Strömberg, operates a platform that provides paying subscribers with access to media podcasts. The company shares the revenues with the content creators.

According to the Swedish media, PodMe has about 20k paying customers and is not profitable.
