PodMe announced raising SEK 25 million more from Schibsted.

PodMe, a Stockholm, Sweden-based operator of a podcast platform, announced the completion a new capital raise of SEK 25M ($2.9M).

The money was provided by existing investors Schibsted Growth and will be used to develop both the platform and the content as well as for international expansion.

PodMe, founded in 2017 by CEO Johan Strömberg, built a podcast platform with content available on a subscription basis. The platform has about 50k paying subscribers.

PodMe has previously raised about $3.4M, with the last round of SEK 21M announced earlier in 2020. Other backers of the company include the Finnish early stage investor Gorilla Capital.
