Polka Dot secures pre-seed funding to build mobile fashion games for a growing female games audience.

Polka Dot Studio, a Helsinki, Finland-based mobile games studio announced raising a pre-seed round to develop its first fashion-themed mobile game. The backers include include Gorilla Ventures, Nuard Ventures, Oak Ventures, and other un-named angel investors.

Polka Dot Studio, founded in 2017 and led CEO Olesja Marjalaakso, wants to focus on the female gamers, with the objective of becoming the category leader in fashion games, and become the go-to-brand for fashion conscious mobile gamers. The Studio’s first game is currently in development, and is scheduled for release in January 2018.

Polka Dot Studio was founded by 6 individuals with experience from Finnish studios like Remedy Entertainment, Bugbear, Digital Chocolate and Rovio. The team also has experience from the fashion and apparel industry, to bring players the best fashion inventory from both established fashion brands and exciting new entrants.
