Pond Healthcare raises SEK 19M from Spiltan for the first spirometer connected to a smartphone.

Pond Healthcare, a Stockholm, Sweden-based health-tech startup, raised SEK 19M ($2.16M) in an investment round led by Spiltan

 Håkan Sjunnesson, Spiltan’s Investment Manager will join the Company’s Board of Directors, alongside Dan Mangell and Lorenzo Consoli. The financing will be used to strengthen the team, the product development and commercial efforts.

Pond Healthcare, led by CEO Lorenzo Consoli, develops spirometers which can be connected to a smartphone that lets customers understand lung health. A spirometer is a tool that measures lung function and is commonly used by asthmatics.

Pond has to date sold a thousand of their devices and is licensed in 30 European countries.
