Popchef in a €15 million series A round led by Meridiam
Popchef, a Paris France-based provider of an eco-responsible alternative to company canteens via connected fridges, raised a €15 million ($15.8 million) equity investment round.
The money was raised locally from France from investors led by Meridiam via its impact fund, Green Impact Growth Fund, joined by historic shareholders – business angels and family offices, including that of the Dreyfus Celeste Management family, and Bourrelier Group (owner of Bricorama).
Proceeds will be used to support its regional expansion, to optimize its logistics with the acquisition of its own warehouse.
Popchef, founded in 2015 by François Raynaud de Fitte and Briac Lescure started as a 15 minute food delivery service that in 2018 pivoted into the B2B market. The company developed a technological platform based on connected fridges that aims to adapt the offer and restocking to consumer tastes, and thus limit waste. Customers include hundred companies, from large groups to start-ups, including Vinci, L'Oréal, Payfit and Blablacar and expects to produce sales of €10 million in 2022.
