Portyr closes a seed investment round for building a GDPR database.
Portyr, a Helsinki, Finland-based startup working on a web-based knowledge repository about the upcoming EU GDPR regulations, announced closing a seed investment round. The amount remains undisclosed and the backers include local venture firms Lifeline Ventures and Wave Ventures.
Portyr, founded in 2017 and managed by CEO Sebastian Nemeth, works on a platform that focuses on making the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) accessible and easy to manage for both companies and individuals.
GDPR is a new European regulation that covers all aspects on how individual persons’ personally identifiable data should be collected and used by businesses. It unifies data regulations in the EU and empowers residents to request and control their saved personal data from any organization.
