Procuritas Capital Investors V acquired a majority of Sofacompany & Scandinavian Design

Procuritas Capital Investors V (“PCI V”) and the founders of Sofacompany and Scandinavian Design (“the Group”), have signed an agreement in which PCI V becomes the majority owner of the Group.

The Group is selling affordable upholstery furniture with high design content through two business lines: Sofacompany is a fast-growing online retailer selling directly to design conscious end consumers in ten countries; and Scandinavian Design serves furniture customers in over 40 countries world-wide with quality design furniture. Online sales are supported by physical showrooms in key locations.

The Group has grown very strongly since the founders Cathrine and Christian Rudolph-Christiansen established the business in 2008. Cathrine and Christian Rudolph-Christiansen will remain significant minority owners of the Group and will continue to manage the business.

The Group has expanded rapidly supported by the unique combination of high product quality, high design content and an affordable price point. As an online sofa specialist, Sofacompany is a forerunner in this large industry, where online penetration is still low but strongly increasing.
