Proportunity raised a $150m mixed debt and equity funding round led by VentureFriends and Kibo Ventures.
Proportunity, a London, UK-based startup providing loans for home buyers, announced that it completed a $150 million financing deal.
Âost of the money is debt and includes a $7 million equity contribution raised from VentureFriends, Kibo Ventures, and existing shareholders Anthemis and Entrepreneur First. The UK proptech investors Amro Partners also contributed to the round as new backers.
Proportunity, incubated at Entrepreneur First in 2016 by Stefan Boronea and Vadim Toader, is an equity loan provider designed to offer customers a bigger deposit to buy a home, and effectively enables them to buy a property with a 5% deposit mortgage. The company is a technology-driven mortgage lender as it uses machine learning to accurately forecast house prices and up-and-coming areas, providing loans to buyers looking to purchase homes in forecasted high-growing areas.
